Liverpool, with their Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, will face Norwich City today, Sunday, at Anfield Stadium in the Round of 32 of the English FA Cup.

Liverpool’s lineup is as follows:

Goalkeeper: Alisson Becker.
Defenders: Bradley, Ibrahima Konate, Koumetio, Joe Gomez.
Midfielders: Macounil, Gravenberch, Curtis Jones.
Attackers: Cody Jacobo, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez.

Liverpool qualified for this stage by defeating Arsenal 2-0 in the Round of 64, while Norwich City advanced to the same round after a 1-1 draw with Bristol and a 3-1 win in the replay.

Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has raised several questions in the minds of the Reds’ fans after announcing that he will leave the team at the end of the current season. Klopp informed the club’s owners of his desire to step down from his position in the summer after nine full seasons at the helm of the Reds.

Klopp took charge of Liverpool in 2015 and embarked on a journey to restore the team’s lost glory. Under his leadership, Liverpool won the Premier League in the 2019-2020 season, the UEFA Champions League in 2019, the UEFA Super Cup in the same year, and the FIFA Club World Cup and the English Football League Cup in 2022.

The English club’s owners are trying to find a suitable replacement for the German coach. Some names have been mentioned, including Xabi Alonso, the former Liverpool midfielder and current manager of Bayer Leverkusen, who has achieved good results with the team in the German league.

Alonso has made his team strong against Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, ending Bayern’s dominance of the domestic championship for several years. Bayer Leverkusen has had a successful season so far without any defeats.

Another name mentioned is Steven Gerrard, the legendary former captain of Liverpool, who has taken his first steps in coaching when he led the Liverpool Under-18 team in the 2017-2018 season. Gerrard had a coaching stint with Rangers FC in Scotland for three seasons before returning to the English league, but this time with Aston Villa. However, his time with Aston Villa was short-lived, and he later moved to coach Al-Ittihad FC in Saudi Arabia starting from the current season until 2027.

Reports have also suggested Roberto Di Zerbi, the manager of Brighton & Hove Albion, as a potential successor to Klopp at Liverpool. Di Zerbi has received significant support due to his success in leading Brighton to compete in the Premier League. Liverpool has struggled against Di Zerbi’s teams, failing to win in three matches in his first season with Brighton.

However, it is possible that Liverpool’s management will consider hiring the experienced Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho, given his long experience in coaching top teams. Mourinho’s most recent coaching position was with AS Roma, from which he recently departed due to poor results.
